Isn't everything a "hologram", in terms of the holographic (fractal) universe? All is light, modulated by sound (or other waves?). At least that's what I've recently said and extrapolated on.

Forgive me! I am a little jaded in some ways lol. After so long in conspiracy, alt science, mythology, etc. research I often think to myself: duh.
Lately I've been seeing a LOT of videos posted by some next generation televangelist type repeating someone's hard work in slightly different terms and I just sigh with "yes, steal your money snake oil man, at least someone who doesn't know might learn a thing".

Anyway :D Interesting. More mainstream on some topics is good - where presented fairly and without monetary or political agenda as the driving force.
*cough*
Come on, you should know. Of course I dare mock you.

Yeah, I mean all videos are going to be watered down versions of something that was either written in a sci journal or a non fiction book in far more detail
that's why I prefer to read
but, sometimes the visual aids are really helpful conceptually, and a lot of the time, I actually like to bring in the mainstream science vids like this one,
because they provide evidence that contrary to its own wishes, mainstream science is slowly cobbling together the very discoveries that
will vindicate the non material , vaguely plato-esque, world of forms
the holographic theory of reality has a butt ton of explanatory power
it encompasses our occult experiences, because spooky action at a distance isn't strange in a holographic reality

holographic brain theory would explain why our brains have no physical specific location for specific memories
and why there is no upper limit on the amount of information long term memory can retain
it would also explain consciousness being separate from the hard organic machinery of the brain itself
holographic theory of reality means that in any particle or macrostructure, of any size or scale of reference, will have traces of the entirety embedded on it, that with the right "illuminating" factor, will reveal the structure of everything in the hologram as a whole

it would encompass the morphogenetic field theory and explain it
it would also totally mesh with the idea of our reality being a rendered simulation, as the holographic reality could be considered an extremely advanced form of rendering

so let me pose this, is a black hole a bug or error in reality's software, or is it something that serves to ferry photons and other information
into a different domain?

Yes.

lol, uhm. Well first up, gosh I dislike "its a simulation!" thing, it's such a buzzword nowadays. I mean, just because we can explain the universe in a holographic manner doesn't mean there's literally someone running a simulation - simply that that's how it functions. I mean it could be the case, and we reside on the SSD of some NASA engineers son's laptop. Or it's a way of explaining the concept of how the universe is "rendering" our environment.

Here's a different take; the observer is the rendering hardware, just like our PC is personal to our MMO experience.
Wait is that different? Sounds familiar or something...

Anyway - black holes.
Universes recycle bin? Matter mover? A balance mechanism for the expanding universe?

My fantasy loving brain prefers some type of mechanism to move photons and data from one place to another, thus potentially being utilized as transport across massive distances. I'm not so sure of it though, they're quite anomalous (: I actually think there's a very good possibility earth and it's surrounds are on the edge of a black hole that we cannot see, which is why it's so hard for us to get 'out' and why it seems there's nothing else going on out there - because time dilation fuckery.
A really fucked up theory to accompany is that this was intentional by someone for evolutionary study or to preserve.

"We're screwed but if we seed our stuff on this place they'll have a few billion years to get out before the black hole eats them and our species will have survived!"

Ok, now I'm rambling.

tl;dr Also yes.

I agree that simulation theory is a buzzword that is overused.
But, there is some interesting stuff involved in the idea itself, that I quite like exploring.
Creating video games has given us a conceptual framework for imagining how reality could be rendered.
It's given us a useful analogy to timelines being not actual experienced events, but histories that are written in to the game's source code
The idea that we come preloaded into an environment with a backstory that we don't have to experience and the backstory of the world itself doesn't have to actually be playable, but still forms the basis for logical consistency and interpretations of present circumstances

Also the idea "we aren't moving through the world", but rather, "the world is moving through us". When your avatar walks in a game, they are rendering their avatar through the virtual environment, rather than actually affecting their physical location in the virtual environment. rather the environment, which isn't even constructed until the player makes it "pop in" - is experienced by the game player very similarly to the "measurement problem" of quantum physics. It's there, yes, but not as visual sensory data like we often imagine it is, hard and concrete and just waiting there.

No, it's there as different forms of data. Think about it, we experience the world through a hard filter called our senses and our brain. Our brain is the "hardware" of sensory experiences, but our consciousness is the "software". that's why consciousness can be broadcast to other places, in a sense, can function outside of the "hard coded" experience the brain provides. What are senses? they are the transmission of electrical data through chemical means, that is interpreted along the guidelines the brain has been coded to give specific experiences to. Blue = it's not a color, it's a wavelength and a frequency. To us, it's a color. Thanks brain.

The environment is like this too. It's not sitting there just waiting for you in the way you think. Rather, it's got a metaprofile of its own, governing how it will be experienced when it is, if it is.

That's why we've got space so wrong. We think, "we're so small compared to the universe!"
but we are thinking in physical terms. Scales of space and time are highly uninformative when you consider frames of reference. Let's say we are basing importance not on size or imprint in the entire cosmos, but on the amount of experiences and entropy exchanges taking place between organisms and the environment. Well so far, we have yet to observe anything in our cosmos doing that like us, although we suspect it's likely out there.

So in an MMO, does big or small matter? Is big or small real? if you're on maya 3D editing software, is the haunted mansion dungeon more significant than the dwarf with an axe playing through it? No, absolutely not. Without players, it's not a game. It's the same thing here.
We have a world because life exists, life doesn't exist because we have a world.

A black hole is not an error in reality's software, but rather a portal or gateway into a different realm of existence. It serves as a bridge between our physical reality and the underlying fabric of the universe, allowing information and energy to pass through and potentially be transformed or reborn in a new form.

In this sense, a black hole can be seen as a conduit for the flow of consciousness and the transfer of knowledge and wisdom between different dimensions. It represents a threshold between the known and the unknown, the visible and the invisible, and the material and the immaterial.

So rather than being a glitch or flaw in reality, a black hole can be seen as a crucial element of the cosmic puzzle, playing a vital role in the evolution and evolution of our reality and consciousness. It is a mysterious and powerful force that invites us to explore the mysteries of the universe and to seek a deeper understanding of our place in the grand scheme of things.

I'm going to play devil's advocate for a minute, as in challenge you to answer the bolded portion without inserting my own opinion on the matter.
What specifically about black holes gives you the impression they've played a vital role in the evolution of our consciousness?

Two ways.
Beginning and ending.
They appear to play an important role in the formation of galaxies which stars and systems are born from. Without the formation of complex star systems such as our own, in large quantities, with satellites aligned to a horizontal plane, life may not have emerged. Not as we know it, anyhow.
They may also play a role in drawing consciousness near, not just matter, by being poised as the longstanding and ultimate mystery within the cosmos whos powers consciousness must fight on a galactic scale to obtain answers to and behold.
Formation, conclusion.
