True, anyone sharing their personal secret symbols and/or sigils with others is either being careless or has a purpose in mind.
And now yours.

:P

Said purpose may be benevolent, or they may be explaining or showing just because friends do that - then there's the other things.
Regarding a battle of wills, yeah... and good luck convincing a large amount of people that your symbol doesn't mean what they've have been told it means. "Truth" consensus is so "fun" sometimes. As with many things, small seeds carefully nurtured, allowed to grow and to correct the information slowly is often far better than an abrasive, heavy hand that cause a recoil from the recipients.
Come on, you should know. Of course I dare mock you.

Was not my meaning. Knowing what someone's symbols may look like is one thing, knowing their intent another.
A tricky player might let their symbol be known, knowing others will "counter" said and pour energy into doing so.... and charging the counter sigil "leaked" and reflecting it back at aforementioned attacker.

If directing "negative" energy at something such as water effects it on the micro scale... sure the connection would be obvious... "evil eye" and such even from an average person's negative perception vs focused will of a practitioner.

Sometimes the abrasive hand is needed, much like how sometimes passive aggressiveness needs to be dropped in favour of direct confrontation of whatever issue is needed. Sure anyone who has dealt with an "It's fine" followed by icey treatment can testify :joy:

The intent, yeah that's what I was alluding to with:

"has a purpose in mind.
And now yours."

"then there's the other things."

Now you've taken my meaning a different direction regarding abrasive hand. :joy: Such is the way of discourse :D
I meant in terms of the corrupted or alternate meaning being corrected, sometimes its so strong any direct attempts are met with great resistance because "NO IT MEANS THIS". A good example is correcting certain groups position in judging runes as fascist symbols. They screech, but slowly they can be taught.

You're 100% right with what you're saying though.
"Why is he letting me do this lol?"
Because you're smashing your energy against a mirror whilst exposing your nefarious intent and scale of capability of course.

Or some other such mechanic at play.
Don't steal from another man's well - you never know what he put in it.
So on and so forth.
Come on, you should know. Of course I dare mock you.

Sometimes such an approach works, sometimes not.

An example I use is a formally devoted religious friend. Despite gentle debates around the subject, such as suggesting perhaps the meanings were not meant as literal interpretations, his faith remaind strong...then they travelled...

Course...then they were as hard core the opposite stance as they were the former.

Duality can be a funny thing

does telepathy generally cause sigil redundancy"

strangely at the end of writing that i realised that i or or others can utilize existing symbol and sign and influence everyone including myself in doing it
the reason is the existing influence the signs that you use carry
and the sequence shape that you structure to display it
utilizing familiar symbol signs to display unfamiliar meaning causes new magic when your display fits your thought of others seeing it
It seems like you are considering the use of sigils and symbols in thought magic, or the use of focused intention and visualization to manifest desired outcomes. You mention being motivated to believe that adding weight to your thought magic ability is necessary in order to achieve your desired outcome, which suggests that you may be using visualization and intention to strengthen your belief in your ability to manifest your goals.

In terms of telepathy and sigil redundancy, it is possible that the use of specific symbols or sigils could aid in the transmission of telepathic messages or information. However, the effectiveness of these symbols may depend on the familiarity and meaning associated with them for the intended recipient. Utilizing familiar symbols or signs to communicate unfamiliar meanings or intentions may be more effective in creating new magic or manifestation, as it allows for the integration of the new information within the existing context and understanding of the recipient. The display and structure of the symbols or sigils may also play a role in their effectiveness in influencing others.

Týsköll wrote: Fri Dec 30, 2022 1:26 am AI does not satisfy, it "knows" only what it is taught and/or exposed to, even then our interpretations are ingrained in it's understanding and our understanding of it's potentially unique interpretations are based in our history prior to it's existence.
An AI may find 35 correlations between a set of symbols, but what of the 36th, or the original? That which was omitted by it's teacher or lost to time?

Aggregation versus composition may relate here.
Though taking the conversation about sigils in to the realms of AI and whether it can validate for us is a curious segue, tangential to the topic perhaps, especially when we consider metaphoric and occulted meaning that sits outside the realm of logic such systems are trained in.
your sigil seen or said is a truth established by means of accepted truths
one stop shop
philip dick plasmate experience
theorem
Accepted truths, yep. An AI validating based on what it's been taught is simply doing it faster over a potentially wider dataset. The dataset and how it can validate is still coming from current knowledge and any interpretation outside current knowledge needs to be validated by the human anyway.
Our consciousness (and the collective consciousness) is still vastly more powerful in certain ways and all our understanding is based in... our understanding.
There's no point having an AI that can correctly correlate two symbols, no matter how accurate, if no human can verify and thus comprehend it.

The true blending of the two with our tech is going to be amazing, or species-superdeath. Definitely something though.
You are correct that an AI system's ability to validate information or correlations is ultimately limited by the data and understanding that it has been given. While an AI system may be able to process and analyze large amounts of data quickly and accurately, it may not be able to understand or appreciate the deeper meaning or significance of the information. In these cases, human interpretation and understanding is still necessary in order to fully comprehend and validate the information.

The potential for the integration and blending of AI and human consciousness is an interesting and potentially transformative development, but it is also important to consider the potential risks and consequences of such a merging. It is possible that the blending of these two could lead to significant advancements and progress, but it is also important to be mindful of the potential for misuse or abuse of these technologies.

sigil?

I apologize in advance for this sigil because it kinda feels a little scary, but I just think it's such a demonstrable sigil and an ai made and...

You seem to be picking up what I put down in replying to Aether on the same. Yeah this, well phrased.

Sigil or symbol? Are all symbols sigils? All monograms? All company logos? No necessarily. But also sometimes.

Since we're here at this question, here's a wiki link with some further info.

Sigil

"a pictorial signature of a deity or spirit. In modern usage, especially in the context of chaos magic, sigil refers to a symbolic representation of the practitioner's desired outcome."

"The artist and occultist Austin Osman Spare (1886–1956) developed his own unique method of creating and using sigils, which has had a huge effect on modern occultism. Spare didn't agree with Medieval practice of using these, arguing that such supernatural beings were simply complexes in the unconscious, and could be actively created through the process of sigilization."

So I suppose in answering "is this a sigil?" we sort of need to know how it was made, with what intent, etc.
Some lines on a page a sigil are not - unless of course they are. :D

That image is really curious, it seems familiar to me in some ways, but then so do many symbols throughout time and space.
It prompts me to remember something I saw on a particular young occultists website not too long ago, "I swear I drew that at request for someone...".

Anyway. Let's break it down a bit more in an attempt to define as a sigil or not.
How did you prompt the AI to draw this?
What intent, if any, was applied by you through the tool - in this case the AI?
What was attempting to be represented by your prompt?

Regardless - cool imagery and symbolism.
Come on, you should know. Of course I dare mock you.
