The One the Two and the Many
Eternity was once a singular nothingness.
This nothing became conscious, it was simple awareness of its own existence.
It was limitless but completely ignorant of its creative capacity. Unaware of contrast this singularly was content to be with itself and think.
Thinking and learning are poor words for an entity that is not temporally constrained. They are the best words however to describe the process this baby God experienced.
I hesitate to use the word “God”. It suggests a wisdom and sagacity this entity lacked, it also implies a relationship that initially did not exist.
As it thought and learned about its unlimited environment. It could create and destroy anything it could imagine, though it still had not invented time yet.
Time was an insight God had while it was changing its imaginings. Once it had contemplated time it realized it was lonely.
This offered God its first difficulty. It was ignorant of how its consciousness formed so it was unsure how to conceptualize another of itself.
Being creatively unbound it could make something that thought like itself but it realized it could not be also substantively void.
It decided to imagine a piece of its consciousness and give it a crude formless form. The eternal paradox of consciousness.
God had not thought of the boundaries and limitations it should place on another of itself. It did not take long before the petulant God and its inexperienced image had conflict. God then un-created its annoyance, one of the few things its prodigy could not do.
God then had its first regret. While annoying and difficult, it realized it actually missed its creation, the challenges, and companionship it offered.
God decided to try again with much more forethought utilizing lessons learned from the first attempt.
This new companion was bound by space and time, also its abilities were bound and limited. God gave it a “place” to exist and to measure the passage of time.
While this creation had form it was ethereal. When God wanted companionship it would take a similar form, and when annoyed it could leave.
This created an obvious power imbalance. This left its companion very bitter and resentful. God did not know these emotions, but could sense a problem. When the dynamic was explained, God realized it needed to create a companion for his creation.
Knowing two identical consciousnesses are not compatible it varied some of the parameters and expanded the environment.
Thus began God's recursive expansion problem. Two different beings always exhibit a power imbalance. If you do not add more beings the dynamic becomes toxic.
A constant unchanging imbalance leads to cruelty and evil in general. “Heaven” by necessity kept growing in breath and number.
God realized the design had a fatal flaw. It suspected a temporal issue. Realizing it could not keep expanding a fatal flaw ad infinitum. It designed a time restricted self generating environment of sentient seemingly mortal ever changing beings of free will.
This new creation would keep its eternal creations busy while God explored its power/evil problem.
Not sure what happens if it gets figured out.
