Courtesy of Gemini-Pro, coz why not.

Please explain to the best of your ability the term 'Elftereich'. Please include modern translation, etymology of the words, and any historical or mythological connotations to partial or full words.

Elftereich:

Modern Translation:

Elven Realm

Etymology:
  • Elfe: Old High German "elbe", meaning "elf"
  • Reich: Old High German "rihi", akin to English "rich" or "realm"
Historical or Mythological Connotations:
  • Elves are a common feature in Germanic mythology and folklore, often depicted as magical beings associated with nature and the supernatural.
  • Elven realms are often portrayed as idyllic and beautiful places, hidden away from the mortal world.
  • The Elftereich could be seen as a parallel to the human world, with its own unique culture, language, and history.
  • The term "Elftereich" has been used in various works of literature and art to refer to an idealized realm of elves.
Overall:

The term "Elftereich" conjures up a mystical realm inhabited by elves, a place of beauty and wonder. It draws on Germanic mythology and folklore, and has been used in various creative works to depict a world of enchantment and magic.

Consider the modern use of the word 'Elfte' and repeat the task.

Elfte:

Modern Translation:

Eleventh

Etymology:
  • Elf: Old High German "elbe", meaning "elf"
  • Te: Old High German "zeho", meaning "ten"
Historical or Mythological Connotations:
  • Elves are a common feature in Germanic mythology and folklore, often depicted as magical beings associated with nature and the supernatural.
  • The number eleven has various symbolic meanings in different cultures, including balance, harmony, and completeness.
  • In some traditions, elves are associated with the number eleven, and are sometimes said to be eleven times more beautiful than humans.
  • The term "Elfte" could be seen as a reference to the mystical and otherworldly nature of elves.
Overall:

The term "Elfte" combines the Germanic word for "elf" with the number eleven, suggesting a connection between elves and the mystical significance of that number. It evokes a sense of enchantment and magic, and could be used in various creative works to depict a world of mystery and wonder.

I'm still exploring about the spiritual, sometimes the inner child in isolation can create a world out of nowhere, my influence was music, and that impulse that guides you through the mysterious, like a call, you're not the only crazy. XD
You'll probably never stop exploring, or, once you think you have something will pop up and say; hey, you, seen this? and that inner child will exclaim "Oooh! an adventure!?"
I'm not the only crazy? That's right it's everyone else that's crazy! I'm not, not us, nope.

Related to light and reflections, it also reminds me of my geology classes, where you had to identify the optical properties of minerals, in this case we used to identify what minerals were the ones that reflected lights from the others that didn't, and classify them. The color, transparency and the stripe, etc. Colorless was also an option for a transparent mineral now that i remember.

There's so much to learn from the void and dark matter concept, i haven't seen it yet in depth.

Interesting. I have a quartz crystal that I've had since I was fairly small. I used to call it my key and do small child magick things with it, like opening non-physical doors. I've been considering fixing some wear/smoothing/polishing it with a dremel tool I have that is apparently suitable, I've never worked with stones before though so I'm a bit wary.

Alias wrote: Fri Jun 16, 2023 8:31 pm I like your point of view about etymology, but also with mythological connotations. That's different, i can only think about the slang and the stories they spoke on medieval times, endless tales of mysterious gods by the fireplace in the cold. Imagination sparks, flies, cultivates the mind with endless stories and fantasies.

Maybe their own experience about the elves made it conflictive the difference of dark elves and black :ponder: , i heard pale on a few occasions, but the variety are huge to percieve.

Unless Grimm had a very perceptive eye for the colors he could have called some color white pastel pale or something, and we couldn't see the difference, i think it depends on the way both of them see colors and how detailed they see things. :ponder: did i understand your post?
You did.
Whilst I was having a wee joke regarding a particular Company of Grey Elves important to me on a personal level, I think that the "colourless" part could well be applicable. Colourless as in invisible or transparent, where light reflecting off an object is what causes it to appear as a particular colour:

"For example, a red wagon looks red because it reflects red light and absorbs blue and green light. A yellow banana reflects red and green light, and absorbs the rest."

We might then understand "dark", "pale", "colourless", "transparent", etc. as something that doesn't reflect light. So rather than "dark" as in shadow, which would be more applicable to black elves, we'd be "looking at" :D Elves that are "dark" because of the absence of reflected light. It would make them particular stealthy. ;P
This could be applied directly to Dark Matter and we can circle around to my theory of Dark Matter being the "realm" of potentiality/void.
